Hi my name is David McDonald and I own and operate ABI, Advance Building Inspections Ltd.
I have been involved in the building industry for over 47 years starting with an carpentry apprentice which I completed in 1965.
Over the years I have been involved in Residential and light Commercial construction, also the manufacturing of Joinery and Cabinetry.
In the latter years I been involved in Building Disputes, Building Inspections, Building related problem solving and Design work.
Prior to starting ABI in 1995, I ran a successful construction company, Bay Builders Ltd which was involved in all aspects of residential and light commercial construction. The company is now trading as BBL Design and specialises in design for new homes and renovations.
I enjoy being able to help people clearly understand the condition of the property they are looking to purchase.

I have been a member of the Auckland Registered Master Builder Association for over 36 years and was on the board of managers for this association for 16 years.
I am now a life member of the Auckland Association and a Trade Associate Member of Tauranga Registered Master Builders Association, as well as belonging to The New Zealand Institute of Building.
